SUMMARY:Vice Provincial Chapter and the New VP Council
DESCRIPTION:The Vice Provincial Chapter of the St. Michael of the Saints Indian Vice Province was held at Maitreya\, Bangalore\, from January 10 to 15\, 2026\, with the theme “Chains of Oppression\, Bonds of Liberation.” The Chapter was presided over by the Fr. General. \nRev. Dr. Sunil Kumar D’Souza animated the Chapter with insightful sessions on “Chains of Oppression\, Bonds of Liberation: A Trinitarian Journey\,” “Glory to the Trinity and Redemption of Captives in the Light of Canon Law\,” and on the recent amendments concerning Religious Institutes. \nDuring the Chapter\, the new Vice Provincial Council was elected: Very Rev. Augustine Vadakkethala as Minister Vice Provincial; Rev. Binoj Mathew as Vicar Vice Provincial and First Councillor; Rev. Jolly Thekkinen as Treasurer and Second Councillor; Rev. Sunil Thoppiltharayil as Secretary and Third Councillor; and Rev. Joshy Mappilaparambil as Fourth Councillor. \nThe Chapter was a grace-filled occasion of fraternal sharing\, reflection\, and prayerful planning for the future mission and growth of the Vice Province.

SUMMARY:Chapter Deliberations
DESCRIPTION:There were 26 capitulars who actively participated in the Vice Provincial Chapter of Vice Province of St. Michael of the Saints from October 1-5\, 2022.  After a time of evaluation and assessment of state of the Vice Province by the Minister Vice Provincial\, each of the Council members presented a brief report on their respective areas of responsibilities like Formation\, Apostolate\, Finance\, Media and Publication … Participants were given time to clarify or raise questions in each of the areas.  Afterwards the capitulars were given time for presenting their resolutions and proposals to deliberate and decide.  It was a beautiful time of open debate and dialogue.

SUMMARY:Chapter Animation by Rev. Dr. Paul Achandy\, CMI
DESCRIPTION:Rev. Paul Achandy\, CMI animated two session in the morning hours of first day of the Vice Provincial Chapter.  He urged the Capitulars to take responsibility in the Vice Province through active participation and creative contribution during the Chapter.  He emphasised the need for the Trinitarian Communion especially in the context of the entire Church reflecting and pursuing a synodal model.  His long years of experience as the Prior General and Provincial Superior of the Carmelites enabled him to enlight the capitulars through many examples and models.
